A National Historic Landmark, the White House of the Confederacy is located just steps away from the Museum in Richmond. The former executive mansion of Jefferson Davis has been meticulously restored to its wartime appearance when it served as the social, political and military center of the Confederacy.
Through daily tours visitors can easily imagine Generals Lee & Jackson strategizing campaigns in President Davis’ Office; the Davis children playing games in the Nursery; and Abraham Lincoln contemplating the last days of the Civil War in the Davis Library.
