Publicity Aside from housing an amazing collection of artifacts, The Museum of the Confederacy also holds programs and events throughout the year for visitors, members and nonmembers alike. Events range from the interesting and educational-such as the annual Teachers' Institute and Girl Scout badge days-to the just plain fun, like dancing the Virginia Reel in the lobby during Court End Christmas. The most earnest Civil War buffs never miss our annual lecture/discussions, especially the February Symposium and the Bottimore Lecture in the fall.
The Museum, White House of the Confederacy, and Appmattox (MOC / WHC / APX) is a private, non-profit organization. We hope to extend every consideration to those wishing to film, tape or photograph the MOC and/or WHC. However, all filming, videotaping, and photography projects are reviewed individually for relationship to our mission, appropriateness, burden on historical resources, and staff time required.
