“The Art of Spinning” is the topic of a program to be presented by Dawn Doss at the Museum of the Confederacy-Appomattox. The program will be presented twice, at 11 AM and 2 PM, Saturday, August 25, 2012, and will last between 30 and 45 minutes each.
Ms Doss, a Civil War re-enactor since 1989, learned to sew and knit as a result of the hobby. In time, the art of spinning became a goal, and in 2010, she purchased her spinning wheel and began the joy of fiber artistry. She has demonstrated her skills and shared her knowledge with school students and has been featured by museums. Dawn lives in Altavista with her husband Robert.
The programs will take place rain or shine. Registration is not required and the program is free of charge with admission to the Museum. For information contact: Josie Butler at jbutler@moc.org or 855-649-1861 ext. 203.
