What varieties of herbs would’ve been in the gardens of people living in the Piedmont area of Virginia? Bonnie Swanson, president of the Master Gardeners of Appomattox County, will share information about herbs that were grown and used to treat ailments, flavor food, and clean the house. This presentation will take place at the fledgling herb garden at the Museum of the Confederacy in Appomattox. Come and see some of the herbs used during this time period and compare their purposes with our modern uses.
This program will run twice, once at 11am and again at 2pm.
Cost: Free, with Museum admission.
