Throughout the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War, the Museum of the Confederacy-Richmond will be hosting a monthly series of talks devoted to a topic or event's 150th anniversary. These talks, normally scheduled for the third Friday of the month, are free for members and Richmond area residents, and are included with Museum admission for all others.
This talk will focus on the construction and use of the Confederate Balloon “Gazelle” also known as the Silk Dress Balloon. The balloon was used during the Seven Days Battles seeing its entire operational life in this campaign.
Join Museum Supervisor of Visitor Services Bryce VanStavern for this free talk. Bring your lunch to the Museum and commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
