Have you ever looked at a beautiful Civil War quilt and wondered what life might have been like for a woman living back then?  Why did she choose those fabrics and how did she find the time to work on it?  Completing a quilt can be overwhelming for a lot of us.  Just starting one is daunting.  We can help with that.

Museum Director of Collections Robert Hancock oversees this game that gives players a chance to experience a unique perspective on Civil war strategy, tactics, and the art of command using appropriate nineteenth century methods.

The format of the game is:

1. A PowerPoint presentation introduces participants to army organization, staff work, elements of strategy, and how the kriegsspiel will be conducted.

2. Participants are divided into two teams-Union and Confederate, and roles are assigned.
