The Museum’s newest site opened in Appomattox, Virginia, in March 2012. Using original artifacts and documents as well as audio and interactive displays, the visitor is led from the outbreak of war to the surrender of Robert E. Lee and his army at Appomattox. The exhibit continues into the years of reconstruction immediately after the war and beyond. A temporary exhibition rotates regularly.
