The White House of the Confederacy undergoes several seasonal changes throughout the year to show some of what the Davises and others of the time period would have done in their homes to adjust with the seasons. Visitors in the summer will see items such as mosquito netting over the beds, ladies’ parasols, fans and gloves, and cotton ticking covers over some of the furniture. Visitors in the winter will see colder weather items such as quilts, shawls and blankets from the time period, and those who come during the Christmas season will see Christmas decorations along with winter dress. For further information about the different seasonal changes, visit the pages below.
