The Museum of the Confederacy's current publications continue a tradition begun more than 109 years ago with a hard cover souvenir of the Museum's 1896 opening. Catalogues of the growing collection, yearbooks, and pamphlets followed in subsequent decades. In the last 25 years, the Museum has published a series of lavishly illustrated catalogues of special exhibits and specific areas of its collections, along with an occasional Journal offering rich and detailed articles about the collections.
A regular Newsletter began appearing in 1963; it matured from mimeographed pages stapled together into a 16-page magazine format. In 2005, the Newsletter became The Museum of the Confederacy Magazine, a 32-page color quarterly publication combining articles about the collection with Museum events and news.
Current issues of the Magazine are available exclusively to members of the Museum. Members also have the opportunity to browse through past editions of the Magazine in the Member's Only section of the website.
