Who can I talk to about an artifact?

The Museum staff will gladly answer any questions relating to the Museum’s artifacts. An appointment may be arranged with a museum curator, if needed. For general questions, please email collect@moc.org. For flag inquiries, please email flags@moc.org.

How do I go about donating an artifact?

The Museum welcomes all donations, although our space is limited and we are only able to accept those artifacts, books and documents that best meet the mission of the Museum. If you are interested in donating an artifact, please contact collect@moc.org.

What are your current exhibits?

The Museum’s permanent exhibit is “The Confederate Years.” Current temporary exhibitions include “The Art of the Confederacy,” “Virginia and the Confederacy: A Quadricentennial Perspective,” and “Between the Battles.” To explore the White House of the Confederacy, click here.

How do I arrange a research appointment?

The Museum staff request that you schedule your research appointment at least two weeks in advance. To schedule an appointment to see a flag, please contact flags@moc.org. To schedule an appointment to see all other artifacts, please contact collect@moc.org. To schedule a research appointment to view documents in the Eleanor S. Brockenbrough Library and Archives, please contact library@moc.org.

What do you have in the library and archives?

The Library maintains more than 15,000 books and pamphlets, 1,000 prints and sketches, and more than 200 shelf feet of manuscripts. Its valuable collection of documents, papers and books provides researchers information on the Confederate Army, Navy, and government, and postwar Confederate memorial organizations.

Eleanor S. Brockenbrough Library and Archives is open by appointment, Monday-Friday. Appointments are available from 10-5. To schedule an appointment please email library@moc.org.
