Lee and Jackson Resources banner

The Museum of the Confederacy has a rich collection of documents, objects, and photographs related to the lives and careers of General Robert E. Lee and General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson. With the assistance of the Lee-Jackson Educational Foundation in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Museum is making its Lee and Jackson resources available for public educational use.

From this page you can view images of the Museum’s Lee and Jackson collections along with brief descriptions and narratives about them. Use the thumbnails below to navigate to pages of images of Lee or Jackson letters and documents, artifacts, or photographs. These pages will in turn lead to thumbnail galleries of images.

R. E. Lee: The Exhibition
In 2000, the Museum created a major exhibition about R. E. Lee, which supplemented its own collections with loans from other public and private collections. Although the exhibit ended after 2002, a catalogue of the exhibit is still available for sale from
The Haversack. The exhibit is also still available in the form of a 360-degree filmed tour made by North Carolina photographer Cramer Gallimore and narrated by Richmond bookstore owner and radio personality Marc Ramsey. The video tour is available on this website.
