The Museum and White House of the Confederacy is located at 12th and Clay streets in Richmond's historic Court End neighborhood, about two blocks from the historic State Capitol and Capitol Square. From I-95 take exit 74C to Route 250 West (Broad Street). At 11th Street turn right and go two blocks to Clay Street. Turn right on Clay. Due to construction, the parking deck is currently using the 12th Street entrance. So follow the blinking signs for parking in the parking deck. The Museum and White House are on the corner of 12th and Clay Streets.

Parking is available in the MCVH Visitor Patient Parking deck at the end of Clay Street. Bring your parking ticket to the front desk and we will gladly validate. The parking deck cannot accommodate oversized vehicles or vehicles pulling a trailer. Parking in a standard-sized vehicle is encouraged.

Monday- Saturday 10 am to 5 pm Sunday 12-5 pm
Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, Closing at 2:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Members, children under 7, and active duty military (with ID) are free. AAA members receive discounted admission.
Pre-booked groups of 10 or more receive a discount. The Museum is also available for rental for special events and parties. White House tours are limited to 20 people and are about 40 minutes long. Larger groups are accommodated on two or more tours. The Museum building takes about 1+ hours to go through thoroughly.
The Museum is currently participating in the Richmond Civil War Pass which includes three great Richmond sites for the low price of $15. You can buy a pass here or at the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar. Click here for more information.


The Museum building is handicap accessible and takes approximately 1+ hours to explore the three levels of exhibitions . The White House, a National Historic Landmark, is only accessible via guided tours, which are offered daily and last approximately 40 minutes.
