The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day and closes at 2:00 pm on Christmas Eve.
The Museum building in Richmond is wheelchair accessible and includes an elevator which serves our three floors of galleries. Due to its historic nature, the White House of the Confederacy is not wheelchair accessible.

The Museum is currently participating in the Richmond Civil War Pass which includes three great Richmond sites for the low price of $18. You can buy a pass here or at the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar.
Since the program began in 2010, the Museum has participated in the Blue Star Museums Initiative which offers free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day each summer. In fact, the Museum has taken the effort one step further and has instituted the policy of offering free admission to active duty military and their families year-round.
