Robert E. Lee is one of the most highly respected leaders of the Civil War. As a member of the Lee Family of Virginia, he was expected to be a leader from the time he was born and learned from the time he was a small child how to be a great leader, not just a good one. Hear Warren Taylor, local historian and volunteer, tell about Lee’s childhood, his time at West Point, his US Army career, his CS Army career and what happened to him after the war. Cost: Included with Museum admission.

Mr. Taylor will also give a lecture “Why Here?” at 1:00 p.m. on the reasons why the surrender took place at Appomattox.
